The scratch coat for the stucco (lathe) is finished and the actual color should be going on today. They also completed the sheetrocking and texturing of the walls earlier this week, and spread the foundation for the tile floors yesterday. We're really moving now, and in only a few more weeks, we'll have a finished home to move into.

Moving forward again
The four way inspection was yesterday, and we only found two things that the builder needed to fix. Right after we signed off on the inspection, the insulation guys were inside filling up the walls with the blown-in insulation that we got as a free upgrade. That afternoon the sheetrock was delivered to the house, and late last night Skiball, his brother, my brother, and 2 more close friends helped to insulate the garage before the crew came in today and started sheetrocking. (Because that upgrade would have cost us more than we were willing to pay for a couple of hours of relatively easy work.) We also got a modified schedule from the builder. It reflects the two week delay, but the builder thinks that they will be able to pull things in and finish only a week late.

Waiting on the four-way
Yes, it is my fault (Beck) that the four-way inspection hasn't been done yet...
The stupid master bath enclosure just WOULD NOT DO, so I had them change it and now we're just waiting for the new one to arrive. No, it's nothing luxurious like custom tile or anything- just a fiberglass encloure- but it HAD to be done. We replaced a similar one in the hall bathroom when we first chose all of our options, but the builder's rep neglected to tell me that the Master bath had the same ugly style in the shower, and thus the hold up.
Hopefully it will arrive today (although, we really have no idea when it will arrive) and we can get moving again.
As an FYI, Mimi's correct windows arrived and were put in, and some of the wiring that needed fixing got fixed. Other than the shower enclosure, we are still waiting on some extra lighting to be put in the workshop area of the garage, then it will be on to insulation (we got a FREE upgrade on this because the builder's rep gave us incorrect info on the standard insulation package) and sheetrock. YIPEE!

More progress
The roofing is done, the furnaces hooked up, most of the electrical and plumbing roughed in and....
we now have the concrete front porch! YES!
No photo today - I can't get it to upload, sorry!

Gotta love it!
Our site superintentant does NOT like to fall behind on projects. So today they began shingling the roof! (Monday we got doors and the wrong windows installed, Tuesday the plumbing and electrical began, and yesterday we got bathtubs as well as a roof over our porch, although, if you look closely, the supports for it don't look all that "supportive".) It seems that the "all on hold" statement was premature and only applied to a few things (like the plumbing & windows). But the plumbing should resume tomorrow and hopefully this storm that is raging outside will have miraculously missed our lot so that the roofers can finish their work tomorrow as well.Fingers, toes and eyes are all crossed!

WHAT?!? On hold?
When we originally looked at the floorplans in our community, I fell in love with one that they don't "officially" offer anymore. When prices dropped, we asked if we could have the discontinued floorplan, and of course, because the builder is in business to build homes, they agreed. The problem with building this particualr floorplan is that it was discontinued after they'd made some major changes, and they never came up with a baseline floorplan. So when another couple picked this floorplan to be built in another sub-division, the architect made some changes to the plans according to what they wanted (perfectly normal), but when we went to build, the architect took the easy way and just cut and pasted from their floorplan and gave the contractors plans that were incorrect and unclear. Thus the backward-framed powder room, the eight-foot main floor doors, the incorrectly-sized windows being ordered, the electrical panels being wired strangely, etc. The issue came to a head today with a different problem being addressed, and the builder decided to put all building on hold until all of it can be resolved. SAY WHAT?
Yep. Because of our floorplan, it's all on hold until Tuesday.
And yes, that means we're behind because of both weather and this.
UGH.
