When we originally looked at the floorplans in our community, I fell in love with one that they don't "officially" offer anymore. When prices dropped, we asked if we could have the discontinued floorplan, and of course, because the builder is in business to build homes, they agreed. The problem with building this particualr floorplan is that it was discontinued after they'd made some major changes, and they never came up with a baseline floorplan. So when another couple picked this floorplan to be built in another sub-division, the architect made some changes to the plans according to what they wanted (perfectly normal), but when we went to build, the architect took the easy way and just cut and pasted from their floorplan and gave the contractors plans that were incorrect and unclear. Thus the backward-framed powder room, the eight-foot main floor doors, the incorrectly-sized windows being ordered, the electrical panels being wired strangely, etc. The issue came to a head today with a different problem being addressed, and the builder decided to put all building on hold until all of it can be resolved. SAY WHAT?
Yep. Because of our floorplan, it's all on hold until Tuesday.
And yes, that means we're behind because of both weather and this.
UGH.
