Finito!

Our walkthrough was on Monday and let's just say that with four people blue-taping things, that we had a lot of stuff that needed minor touch up, and a few things that needed some MAJOR re-working.  However, even with the large amount of blue tape, we are scheduled to close tomorrow morning (Thursday, Feb 26th) after we sign off on the repairs.  Here are a few photos of the finished product:

Raingutter rearranging and more photos

Wednesday afternoon we met with the builder to discuss the drainage situation for the backyard and to give them instructions on how we wanted the tier (necessary for the drainage) set up.  We also discussed the raingutter problem and came to an agreement that shifting the raingutter downspout to the far side of the third car garage would be the best option.  So...

Last night during our daily house expedition, we noticed that the raingutters had been changed and it looks really good, although I'm not overly confident in their ability to move water the way that they are supposed to.  I'm seriously thinking about hauling a 5 gallon bucket of water out of one of the bedroom windows and dumping it out on the roof to see if they drain correctly...ahh... me and my OCD...

Here are some more photos with the lights in and on!

Every day a little more

The finish carpenter was in earlier this week and we have actual stair treads instead of a single two-by four tacked down across the stringers!  Yeah!  Now none of us will fall to our deaths if we have a misstep!  The interior paint is also complete and it looks great, although I had a moment of panic last night because I couldn't decide if it was the evening light that was making it look so much more brown than what I remember. Hopefully that was it.  Seeing as how Skiball couldn't find the camera, we don't have photos yet.  Apologies to those who really wanted to see the paint. (That's oh so many of you, I am sure.) The soffit and fascia are also done, and the shutters around the windows are in.  They also poured the driveway and stairs to the front porch.  We are hoping to get cabinets in today or tomorrow, but really have no idea when they are supposed to be installed as the current schedule keeps being rearranged (not postponed).  If we can just get all of the stuff for our loan into our loan officer, it looks as though we will be closing on March 3rd after all!
